Susy, Kathryn, Stefanie & Carrie

Susy Hurlbert, Chief Executive Officer

Susy comes to the Eastern Connecticut Association of REALTORS® with ten years of experience as Director of Executive Services for the Greater Hartford Association of REALTORS®.  Certified by the National Association of REALTORS® as a Professional Standards Administrator, Susy was staff liaison to several committees including Grievance, Professional Standards, and Legal forms.  Additionally, she was responsible for planning regional events and continuing education classes, strategic planning, and managing the Association’s zipform account.   Prior to joining the National Association of Realtors, she provided executive assistance in the Florida and Northeast regional sales departments of Nationwide Retirement Solutions& Insurance, and previously held a Florida Real Estate License as an Assistant Manager for a rental community.

Susy received her Associate Degree from Tunxis Community College in 2005, a bachelor’s degree in Human Services in 2007 from the University of Connecticut, and her Masters of Public Administration degree in 2012 from the University of Colorado Denver.

Susy is also a long-time advocate of grassroots efforts to end domestic violence, and for several years has volunteered for the Interval House Speakers Bureau.  In her past life, she was a professional ice skater.  Nowadays, she is a Zumba fanatic and enjoys many outdoor activities with her fiancé and 2 children.

Kathryn O’Leary, Member Services Director

Kathryn joined the Association in May, 2004. In addition to membership, Kathryn oversees all functions of our real estate school and our communications/marketing.

Kathryn received her Associate degree from Three Rivers Community College in 2000 and her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2004 from the Eastern Connecticut State University. Since joining the ECAR Team, Kathryn has continued her education by earning the e-Pro designation and completing the “Advanced Professional Standards” and “REALTORS® Association Management” courses in 2008 as well as completing the “REAL” (REALTORS® Excelling in Association Leadership) course in 2010 and the “Advanced REALTOR® Association Management Concepts” course in 2013.

Stefanie Bishop, Association Services Coordinator

Stefanie has been with the Association for 20 years, beginning her tenure with the New London Board of REALTORS®. She provides support to our members and administers the SentriLock Lockbox System.

Carrie Wilson, Communication & Education Coordinator

Carrie joined the Association in July 2021. As Communication & Education Coordinator, she designs and implements marketing strategies and materials for the Association and coordinates all education courses offered by the Association. Carrie brings over 25 years of marketing/design experience to her role at ECAR. She established and ran her own website development company from 1995 to 2010. Pursuing a passion to care for others, she shifted gears and spent over a decade in the Senior Living industry as a National Certified Dementia Practitioner and Alzheimer’s Association Support Group Leader. In 2020, Carrie returned to the marketing field, and once again began providing website development, online marketing and photo editing services to CT businesses.
